Exploring the theory and practice of Wayfaring
30 Sep
Recently I’ve had a few questions come in, essentially asking: “What is Wayfaring?”. This is, of course, explained in The Wayfarer’s Tale, but for those who have yet to read it, I thought I’d provide an overview of Wayfaring here on The Wayfarer’s Compass. Enjoy!
What Is Wayfaring?
Wayfaring is the name used to describe a metaphysical science aiming to awaken the essential self of each individual & to revive each individual’s direct connection with the all-sustaining Source of existence.
Every sentient individual is an expression of the Source and as such possesses an intimate connection with, and essential identity to, this Source. The conditions of socialization and the chaos of modern culture inhibit this connection, even to the point of denying that it exists.
A Wayfarer is one who aims to actualize their essential self, and to reconnect with the Source. This connection to the Source is never actually lost, it is only hidden under layers of socialization. Likewise, the essential self of each being is always present within them, although it is at times obscured by circumstance.
As a Wayfarer, having rediscovered my connection to the Source, I have over the years sought out and developed a conceptual framework to describe and explore the living cosmos.
The framework of Wayfaring discards conventional descriptions and confusing systems of belief in favor of a concise cosmology, providing a map that accurately reflects the true nature of the cosmos.

The primary aspects of this framework are known as the Wayfarer’s Map and the Wayfarer’s Compass. The Wayfarer’s Map consists of a detailed explanation of the Intentional structure that informs the cosmos. The Wayfarer’s Compass provides for individual orientation to the cosmos.
In part, the practice of Wayfaring consists of intentional, mental, emotional and physical exercises that serve to empower the essential identity of the individual and to activate and invigorate the connection to the Source that each individual inherently possesses.
Identifying oneself as a Wayfarer does not preclude being involved with other practices and systems of thought. Rather, this is encouraged, as each individual must seek their own preferred method of practice, and utilize those tools that they feel are appropriate.
This has been a brief overview of what Wayfaring is all about. Please post any questions or comments you may have through the form at wayfarerscompass.com. I look forward to hearing the unique comments and questions of individuals as they explore their own Wayfarer’s Path!
